For the last couple of months now every once and awhile the brake lights will stay on after I've parked and turned the car off? It'* only done it a total of like 6-7 times in the past couple of months, so it'* not all the time. When I noticed them doing it a couple of times I gave the brake pedal a kick and they came off. But I forgot to check today and the battery went dead and when I boosted it they were not on? Could they drum brakes be sticking a little causing the brake lights to stay on? Or are the lights strickly operated with the pressing of the brake pedal? Any help is much appreciated.

Had the same thing happen to my bird a few yrs ago, turned out the brake switch(think that'* what it'* called) was sticking. That'* the piece above the pedal that'* pushed in once you step on your brake pedal. Try to maybe lube it or replace it. I replaced mine and it was fine after that.

It'* the brake switch alright! Just replace it as it is made of cheap plastic that wears out quickly & causes problems like this.
