Default Intake manifold gasket...

I know i've been posting alot about "how do i fix this". so here'* another one.

I've noticed i've had a leak from my intake manifold gasket (if that'* what that is sitting under those 2 silver peices at the front and back of the engine.) and since i've changed my plugs and wires it'* been hissing. so how would i change those? what would have to be moved. it looks likes the fuel lines would have to be moved. how do i move those?

The two silver pieces at the front and back of the engine are (maybe) the valve covers or more correctly the rocker arm covers. The intake manifold sits between the valve covers. The intake manifold comprises two pieces, upper and lower.

I would suggest that you go to your local library and see if you can check out a Chilton'* repair manual for your car. If they don't have them, buy one at any local auto parts store for $15-$20. This will give you a good idea of what'* what and what you need to do to remove and replace the intake manifold if that is your problem. If you have any specific questions, ask them here and we'll be happy to help out.

The only thing that still has me confused is the upper and lower part...does the upper and lower gasket peices both go under the rear valve cover? because when i'm looking at the gasket it self from advance auto part it has 2 peices. so i don't know....it honestly looks to be an easy job but i just don't know where upper and lower are..

Go to this Techinfo article: http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...e=article&k=38

Read the entire article. At the end of the article you will see photos of LIM gaskets, UIM gasket, UIM, and stovepipes. Following those, are links to topics here on BC showing how the parts are removed. But these are not bolt by bolt and step by step. For that you need to spend the $20 to buy a Chilton'* manual for your car.

Since you'll take off your intake manifold, I suggest finding the bolt removal order, and checking if you need new bolts once you take out the ones you have (not really necessary.) When you put back on your intake manifold, you should also know the order by which to put the bolts back in and how much to torque them down.

This is important, as far as I know, so that your engine can work properly in various temperatures and the like.
