Help with oil pressure sending unit
I have a 2002 Olds Alero with 3.4 engine. I need to change the oil pressure sending unit. I see it'* located next to the oil filter and shouldn't be much of a problem. Can someone tell me the best way to remove the old sensor? Should I use a socket and if so what size is it or can I use an open end wrench and just remove the oil filter?

I used an open end wrench and removed the oil filter for more clearance only because I did not have the right size socket. A socket is easier if you have one that fits.

its a real big size. im wanting to say 13/16 or something. i didnt have a socket big enough. you can remove it without taking off the oil filter but it takes alot of wrench flippin

Theres a specific socket that has to be used. ull have to ask the parts store if they carry it but theyre not hard to take out. jus a little hard to get to in some case. i had to take my tire off and the fender well to be able to get to the unit.

this is at auto zone . i bet u anything its an 11/16 but it has weird notches in the socket to fit the shape or ur unit. call auto zone n give them the part number for which unit u want and ask them about the socket. they carry them.
