Default Oil Pressure Sky High

So I noticed the yesterday that my oil gauge pressure is suddenly maxed (reading 830 kPa). What do you think is the cause?

First thing I'm going to do is just get the oil changed, with a new filter and see if that changes it. Everything still appears to be getting oil, but I don't like the idea of taxing the pump like that.

I'll keep ya posted.

My vote is sending unit, mine died too.
Change it out at the same time you change the oil and filter.

I'd also say Oil Pressure Switch/Sensor. The 830 kPa that is indicated on your instrument cluster is like 2x what it should read. With the engine at operating temperature, the oil pressure should be approximately 414 kPa (60 psi) at 1850 rpm. Usually when the oil pressure sensors fail, they indicate high out of range readings. There is a very very small possibility that there is a problem in the instrument cluster, but highly improbable. I'd start with the basics, replace the Oil Pressure Switch/Sensor (oil pressure sender)
