fuel sending unit question.
1997 oldsmobile 88. Hi everyone. My fuel sending unit need to be replaced because of rust. I want to buy the entire assembly. I have harness code hen. I see that aftermarkets parts sell the same complete assembly listed as good for hen/her. But delphi does not, theirs is listed as only for code her; DELPHI HP10261. So I called them and they said that hen is earlier code and is for 0 -90 ohms. Well from everything else I read and shopped for that ohm range is for harness code crd, early 97s and below years. So I tested mine with a multimeter and delphi is wrong, my harness hen code is in the higher range. My questions are; delphi is wrong, right? I don't know how but I think they are, unless I'm missing something. Second question is; as long as the fuel level sending unit and fuel level sensor match, I'm good right? I have never had this much confusion for replacing a fuel sending unit but here I am. thank you in advance. And I want to go with delphi because they have better ratings than dorman or spectra and acdelco is twice as much without a pump(they also don't differentiate between her/hen).

I couldn't figure out how to edit my first post. But here are some pics I took to show what I'm talking about. Upon further investigation I see that delphi lists a fuel pump assembly for harness code hen. DELPHI HP10269. But does not list it for the 88, only the lesabre. And they state it'* ohm range is 0-95. So I'm just more confused now. Delphi has to be wrong about the 88 or there is a gm mix up, wrong sticker or something. Measuring resistance is pretty straight forward. Hopefully someone can provide some clarification.
I have a 1997 LeSabre that is the same platform as yours. When I replaced the fuel pump, I just got the one for that year/make/model and put it in. Mine was from Napa. I almost did the sending unit at the same time. I looked it up and it didn't have any reference to harness codes.
Maybe go to napaonline.com and see what you can find there.

I bought the fuel pump assembly from Delphi for code HER and everything works. The fuel pump assembly unit is not serviceable, even the fuel filter is different than the one they sell for their stand alone pump. Hopefully it all lasts awhile.
