Default Engine noise on my 3.1 (Another Question about it)

I was asking awhile back on the weird noise that my 3.1 has had for 10k mile as of today and I have been weighing my odds on just having the the motor overhauled and drive it till it drops. Well since here in the Midwest we are starting to get some nicer weather I started to do some calling around to machine shop on prices to have it done and one of them asked me to bring the car up and so I did that and they said before I go any further it would be a good idea for me to check my flexplate the machine shop said. They was saying that if a flexplate is cracked in a certain area it can may an engine sound like it has a rod knock in it. So my question is how do you go about checking the flexplate in a 3.1V6. I know that the inspection cover need to be removed but I don't know how to unbolt the torque converter and move it back a little bit to check my flexplate. Also I will be resubmitting the You Tube video I posted about the noise I am talking about. Thanks. Here is that link.

Turning the engine over (without disconnecting the torque convertor) will rotate the flex plate. You can do it by hand with a wrench on the crankshaft bolt, or turn it over using the starter (not while you are under the car of course). Mark the sections you inspect with a grease pencil or a marker of some sort so you can determine if you have checked the entire circumference.
