Default center console very much closed

when i bought my fair lesabre way back when (actually, guess it'* been about 3 months or so), the center console was stuck shut. i'm guessing there should be some sort of handle or something that you use to open it up - which in my case would be broken.

Well, i'm finally getting tired of having no cup holders, so i was wondering how the mechanism works... so i can try to open it up.

any thoughts on how to crack that thing open?

i might be able to take some pics later today when i get home...

Isn't that just the simple pull open type? Did you pull real hard?

welllll, i suppose i'll tug on it more when i get home... if it'* just supposed to pull open, i'd love to see what'* stuck inside of that thing when i get it open

wish me luck - and i suppose if i break it, i can just superglue it back shut and restore it to it'* original state

well, it'* deff not a pull open type - there'* some sort of latch holding that sucker together. based on jr3800'* pics there, i'm gonna guess that there used to be some sort of handle there that released the latch, and that it'* long gone...

so i guess tomorrow i'll have to see if there'* anyway to get somethin down in there to release the latch. any chance that any of our dealership friends has pics for what this sucker is supposed to look like?
