86 oldscalis 2.5
distributor & coil on 2.5 4 cyl.engine - no spark!! What / how to test ? I have no spark @ plugs. What powers the distributor?cranks fine - has been running before.

This is basic HEI with an External coil?
So, no spark out of the external coil wire? ...... Have you tested the external coil? Attach a spark tester to the coil wire, and ground the primary coil for a few seconds....then break the ground, you should get a spark out of the coil....if no, bad coil.....
If yes, possibilities are bad ignition module, bad pickup coil, bad wiring/connections, or no power or ground.....
