Default Your Joking right?

So i finally got my bonnie towed to a shop to have the three year old transmission looked at, i knew it was the linkage, but it was parked 45 min, away from my house so i couldnt do it myself, (not that my parents would let me) anyways the dude called and said it was the shifter cable..(im thinken yes, not to costly...right?)..wrong...they had to overnite a special order and its gonna cost $400...crap....at least the towing is free...

No, they didn't have to overnight the cable, they chose to. The proper response would be, "that'* nice. Now let me call the local junk yards to find a replacement, and we'll use that instead of the one you thought you needed for $400.00."

Unfortunately, those are a waste of money. They tell you what to do, but not how to do it. Someone here might be nice enough to scan that part of the service manual to send to you.

Good idea. I saved thousands last year fixing all my problems myself, or with Bill'* help. I will fix everything myself unless I absolutely cannot.
