You have to love tree hugger logic
Speaking of beef...there'* this butcher near me Silvana Meats. They've got great combos and if you ever have the hankering for a Rib Eye, you can walk in and order any thickness you want. They also pump out some great butterfly fillet Mignonne'*. All of the land walkers they sell are certified hormone free and tasty!

I live in a very rural area with alot of small farm beef production. They got squeezed out of Dairy and barely making it switching to beef. A friend here sells young steers for $1.35/hanging weight through a local butcher who charges 70 cents per pound to process. You are paying for the bones and fat, but it'* grass fed, very lean. My 5 dogs get the bones for treats, and the wife puts what fat there is into her woodpecker feeders. Good, lean, quality, local raised beef without hormones, antibiotics, and all the rest of the crap they feed and inject cattle raised on corporate farms that supply the grocery stores. I get my chicken they same way. Just a couple of a ton of reasons to get out of the city and live and breath decently.

I'm stuck in a city, though it'* the nicer, less populated part of a suburb of a major city (Hartford). I'm lucky enough to have trees and flowers, and a couple abandoned cats that are quite cordial, but not lucky enough to be able to pack up the Bonneville and go. (On the other hand, it'* hard to move away from 50¢ drafts on Tuesdays.)
There'* a butcher shop down the street that I've never checked out. Perhaps I should.
EDIT: Oh look, a horse.
