the supercharged 3800 was gone after 2005. Ha, never! Yes, the GTP was dropped for the new GXP with the 5300 V8. So, were did that superchaged engine go?

Big hint - Stock SSEi'*; the next time you pull up to a new Grand Prix GT at the tree don't chalk it up as a guarenteed win.

Go down to performance. I thought those new GT'* had some pretty agressive exaust.

thank goodness. the l67 needs to live a little longer.

With 280 lb-ft of torque, it has a following bordering on cult status.
isn't that the truth?

After watching GM dump the 5.7 after 100 years from their pickups I bought one with a 5.3.

Now I'm a fan of a newer motor and new designations. While the 350/5.7 and 3800 and L67'* have been fantastic and reliable motors that were the cornerstone for GM.. I'm not afraid to give a new motor or platform a try.

Never know what they are going to pack into it. My truck says 285hp stock. Yeah..sure.. ask anyone that'* driven w/me. It'* a tad over 285hp..and any 345hp Hemi'* that have cruised to the track w/me have found out where it'* at.

I'm feeling the same way, just very sentimental about the 3800 . I'm really looking forward to trying out a vehicle with the 3.6. I'm normally not a DOHC man, but 255/255 n/a with a torque curve that looks like my l36?

That, and I really miss RWD (and a stick). I think my next vehicle may be a CTS... we'll see.
