I got off active duty in 1989.

I had the chilimac last night. Not too bad at all, and it was hot as H E L L.

To show you how old I am when I was in the service we still had left over C RATS from Korea and the latest food technology was LERPS.

This was a long long time ago in a land far far away.

x2.,....I still vividly remember the B1 through 3 packs. The choices werent many. Spaghetti and meatballs or Chicken and noodles were my choice. Round chocolate bars that were so old they were whitish and bitter, Round crackers so hard you could use them like ninja darts which we did, flinging them at each other. Peanut butter that was rock hard with oil floating that couldnt be reconstituted. I use to toss them in others campfires and wait for the can to rupture. Cheese spread that was so chemically preserved, it never seemed to mold once opened regrdless of the jungle heat and humidity. They were best mixed in with your meal. Intack accessory packs were hard to come by, someone was always pilfering thru the cases for the cigs, coffee, and toilet paper. The source of many a story when I got Stateside and had to listen to the kids grumble when I put TV dinners in the oven 'cause Mom had to work late.
