The interesting part is that all 4 of the stunt cars that were used in the movie were BONE STOCK performance wise. The only mods done to them was the paint job and the interior redesign. They used computer effects instead of real hp to make the scenes in the movie. I think its rather funny. Apparently the cars that you hear about are only used for show, and are not in the actual movie. It makes sense when you think about it. Instead of having the "modded" cars go really fast in the movie, they just probably had all of the other cars on the streets go really slow, so the "modded" ones would look fast.

Here is the link to the actual article:

sorry so late to reply. But the reason they just do the exterior is to keep the budget of the movie down. They also use the duplicates for the stunt scenes so that way the original doesnt get jacked up. Even though you do allow them to do whatever you want to your car if it is selected its in the agreement that you gotta sign. Best thing about it is they pay you daily for loaning them your car, but they have the option of purchasing your car after the movie is done filming. Some kids out of the last one made out with 25 grand alone just in rental costs. Heres a link if some of you wanna checck it out & see what kind of cars Hollywood is looking for for their next movie and where.

Ok I went and saw the movie monday and to my amazement it wasnt that bad....it wasnt the best but I would go see it again. I mean come on....they use muscle cars througout the movie and use them at the end instead of the frickin imports. and they praise american muscle! the only part that i thought was gay was the street race(if you call it that!) they jump a bridge!!! wtf??? oh well i think i'll go see it again saturday.

I couldnt stand watching the original Gone in 60 secs. The first half of the movie was horrible and boring, but the chase scene was awesome, one of the best I've ever seen. They completely trashed that car! And when it took that jump! you could see the frame twisting as it landed! The best part was at the car wash.

I don't really like ricers either, but cars are sweet in general. Any movie or show on moddin' cars is interesting to me.

Besides there are drivers I dislike more than ricers, and thats the pigs! I hear the po-po get the smack down in this movie.

If there are movies that need trash talk directed their way, it would have to be Spy Kids.

hahaha 2F2F was great i mean you get to see ludacris in a fro in one scene and in cornrows in the next how great is that and a pink honda s2000 thats just funny and you think when you are going 50mph over the speed limit to go race to turn off your underlights so you dont draw attention to the cops...neither did paul walker this movie didnt make alot of sense but hey at least it kept me entertained.

I felt sick when they wrecked the Vette, (didnt mind the mustang so much). And I was gonna storm outta the theater and demand my money back if they wrecked the Viper (even though i knew they couldnt afford to do that in it)(yea i love um) but it was an alright movie esp when they brought in the American muscle
