bah those cars tap out at anything over 60mph... my buddy is a county cop and i ran him in a vic and an impala and he caught a whuppin in both cars, from a stop and from a roll
Exactly, you run a 14.9. The Crown Vic police pagage runs a 16.4. Of course you wasted him. I'd laugh at some guy who wanted to run me at the track with an Crown Vic police car. Then i'd put money on the race.

The whole point of cop cars isn't acceleration. It'* durability. The Crown Vic is big, tough, fairly agile, and stable at high speed. Yes, the old Caprices were better, but the CV is better at the job than anything else on the market right now.
HOWEVER, Chrysler apparently is releasing a limited number of Hemi Magnums with a developmental Police Package. I got passed by one that the Ohio Highway Patrol is using around I-71 between Columbus and Cleveland. He was after a Cobra that was going flat out, and the Magnum reeled him in like he had a hook in the Stang'* butt.
The CV is probably gonna have serious competition for the top-dog cop-car soon, unless Ford gets smart and lets SVT have a whack at it.(Supercharged 4.6 CV, YAHOOOOOOooooooooo...)

I used to own A 91 Crown Victoria, it really pi$$ed people off in my hometown for a couple of months after I got it because it was black and white with 1/2 dog dish hubs. It wasn't the fastest or the quickest car in the world but that thing was unstopable. I would regularly fly down gravel roads at 110 mph hit highway crossings fly some 20-30 feet maybe a foot and a half off the ground and have a perfectly cushy landing on the other side without bottoming out. And the handling was even more shocking. 225'* at each corner and the HD suspension really made it handle for a 4000lbs car. I would frequently get 20-25 mpg too. I really regret selling my bluesmobile but I needed cruise.
