I have Wii but wish I bought the 360 instead. Wonder if I can trade it off on craigslist?

sounds like your issue could be the power supply.

Never buy used Xbox 360'*. The failure rate is too high to do that, I'd recommend only buying a new one, they come with a three year warranty from MS.

Get it out of the box and turn it on..about 30 minutes later 3 RED Leds on the front ring around the power button are flashing.

Appears to be dead.

Seller is giving me a run-around. I'm going to at minmum lose the return shipping ($25 at least)......oh well.

I guess that teaches me a lesson not to buy a refurb. Thinking of either getting an arcade or getting the "premium bundle" now vs a GEN 1 Xbox.
I wouldn't advise getting a regular xbox if you're trying to save space dude! they're huge and bulky.... but then again, whenever Kim "borrows" my head phones without asking, it makes a nice alarm clock for her....... at five in the morning! it makes a nice big banging noice when you drop it on a tile floor!
WARNING:
DO NOT ATTEMPT XBOX ALARM CLOCK ON WOODEN FLOOR! I CANNOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR THE COSTS OF HAVING TO COVER UP THE HUGE HOLE THAT WILL BE LEFT IN YOUR FLOOR!
