Makes me think that homeschooling nowadays really isn't such a bad idea...

Sorry to hear this. That'* the world we've created these days with all of the lawsuits and the "we can't offend anyone" mentality. It'* all thanks to the loud minority that just like to complain or get easy money. It'* one more reason I hope (may not be financially possible depending on how many kids we end up having) to send our kids to Christian school where I went. There I know they will get a quality education where they will be more safe and have staff that won't be afraid to keep the kids in line.

Frankly man, I'd call the cops. Not on the kids, on the PARENTS. If these kids are doing this at four years old, it'* something they got from the parents. I would not be surprised to learn that they are both victims of abuse.
The comments about (god, I hate to even quote that when it'* said about a four year old) a "big fat ***" could be marked up as something picked up from older kids, but the other one is a huge red flag. That kid has serious issues. Somebody has said that to HIM, and I'd rather not go into the most likely context. For HIS sake, call the police, please.

Your daughter is being threatened to be killed... just because its by other kids doesn't mean the police should not be involved.

on the other topic, yes the school cannot report hearsay. The child told the parent and its the parents responsibility to act*. The parents telling the school administration makes it hearsay from a legal perspective; had the child informed the school officals then they would have had a legal responsibility to act. If they don't then they will probably face a huge lawsuit.

* should a parent fail to act they could be charged with miscdemenor endangering the welfare of a child. Around here thats 3yrs probation, 3yrs councelling, 3 yrs of being seperated from minors - including your own. And that 3yrs is the minimum.
Happened to an old friend of mine about 5 years ago...

three things need to happen with this one.

First Talk to CPS, Both those boys heard it somewhere... Second I might um... drop a recorder in my Daughters Pocket... so You have PROOF that these things are being said... I BELIEVE YOU!!! But someone might blow you off....

Third she should be able to switch classes, She should do so the only other thing I can think of is that you could talk to the parents yourself... but the kid is claiming to have a weapon and threatening to Kill her... Someone has told this kid that, Those Boys could be in Immediate Danger every day they go home!!!

PS if they find the recorder... Then at least you know they would find the knife...
