The one I had just sucked. It seemed that the simplest thing wrong, ended up a major project for my mechanic. He and I grew up together, so he never blew smoke. And parts cost through the roof.
I put 125K on it, and traded it in with everything working. That was darn good for back then. But overall, as a good value car, it was a bellyflop.
1990 Cutlass Calais Quad 442. As far as reliability went it was probably the most reliable car I ever had. It was also the cheapest car I had as well. However, it was the biggest POS out of everything I've had. Can't complain since it did get me through the winter with no issues other than some minor shift cable issues.
I guess for a $200 car it really wasn't all that bad and I can't really complain. It definately wasn't the slowest car I've had either, the engine ran like new, and a H.O. Quad 4 in a 2400lb. car means you're gonna move along pretty well. It had absolutely no issues breaking thet tires loose through 3rd gear and barking them into 4th either. Of course with 205mm wide tires, and like 3.8X gears it doesn't take much. Still was a POS car though, the manual windows didn't even go down.
You know its a nice car when you sell it for gas money to pick up your new car...

Out of the nine cars I've had in six years, the worst was by far the only shiny new one I ever owned (and the only Ford). My brand new Focus hatchback left me stranded three seperate times, went to the dealership NINE times for recalls, ate through two transmissions (under warranty), and I actually had the motor mount (torque axis style) break in half and set my motor onto the pavement on Interstate 95 at 80 mph. My dad told me if I sold it for payoff he would give me his Bonne, never looked back.
Where is it today, it was totalled by a kid about 2 months after I sold it to him, I went and bought my stereo system back from the junkyard, lol.
