I'm the same way with my bonne. I washed it by hand all last winter sometimes 3 times a week, but this winter is so much colder. And my rust bubbles on the wheel well are worse as the pressure from the car wash has stripped the paint from the rusty areas and now it looks like ****. Gotta sand and prime it temporarily till spring, just hope it holds up. It'* only Dec 9th and there'* been more snow than all of last year, and there'* two 1/2 months, at least, till spring weather comes. I f'n hate salt too. It'* costing me big time, $800 or more to fix. I hope when the metal'* replaced it stays rust free for a few years. Well I'm going to wash my car. I'm sure I'll have to do it tomorrow too.
