The paradox of living with women is this:

They want men that are responsible and sensible, but they also want men that retain their sense of boyish charm, galant devil-may-care attitude, and lust for life. In many cases, these are opposing forces and balancing them, especially to please a woman, is a haphazard enterprise at best and a natural disaster at worst.
