So I quit my job at Sears managing the Auto Center, after getting a new district manager and him failing to have any scrap of decency in his body, add that to the incresing amount of BS paperwork and requiring 2 sundays and 3 saturdays a month. I have aquired a new job selling cars.....I know I know im the enemy LOL.....well at least im an honest person and that will really help me sell more cars, that and the experiance in sales Sears gave me. Oh yeah plus I got a new girlfriend :wink2:
and dont hit me with that This thread is useless w/o pics emoticon either.....you dirty bastads!
So im selling Buick Honda and GMC.....if anyone wants a driving impression of any new product from any of those companies tell me I have driven everything on the lot (minus the S2000 and the 6 speed coupe
they keep those keys locked away...but they tell me if im a good boy I can drive one 10 years from now DOH!!) I can tell you that driving 50 cars in 3 days can get a little boring (especially after my daily driver having more hp and tq that almost anything on the lot) theres nothing like driving a Denali w/factory dubz and navi and thinking...jeez id rather be driving my Buick, LOL
BTW they do not have anything on the lot with an L67 as the Ultras have stopped shipping and the 04 Regals are all gone
However when the Lucern comes out I will drive the wheels off one and tell you guyz all bout it

New Lacrosse is a sweet handling car......sharper than my Regal even with the sway bars....but the 3.6 VVT engine is a little peaky for such a large car...no real low down uummph like im used to...so the 240 hp feels like 200....but the interior fit and finish rivals Honda

I dont know how they do it in cali, or even in any really big cities or hugemoungous dealers, but at my dealership it is almost copletely different. We dont try and sell them on payments unless they come in looking for a lease. We sell the price of the car....we dont ask for more than sticker, but there are a few cars that demand sticker price....Honda Ridgelines and Odyssey'* are 2 examples...the Pilots dont get a whole lotta discounts, but if you look at kbb.com (which I always suggest customers do before they shop at all) it will tell you that sticker is what people buy them for. I have only seen 3 Odyssey'* since I have started and havent even gotten the chance to drive them myself...they are instantly p.d.i.'ed and sold (for sticker) within hours of arrival.
I will tell you that we do get a percentage of the gross profit. 30% for new cars and 25% for used....or a minumum of $100 if we didnt make any gross profit. Funny thing is right now (with GM employee pricing) I would only make a hundred bucks off selling a Denali for $48,000, but I have made more than 3 times that selling a used Civic LOL.
That goes to show that I really dont push people into a more expensive car...heck I would rather get them in a car at a price they can afford with the features they really want, so that I can actually SELL the car. Plus it helps to be really nice and courtious.
