Chris, I'm really sorry to hear about what happened. I take it the dealership won't cover any of it? Seems like they should have insurance for anything on their lot...

I would definitely get glass coverage on your policy. You never know when something like this will happen, and who knows when a rock will crack your windshield??? Glass coverage is pretty cheap compared to a new windshield...

Also, didn't you take your faceplate with you???

I didn't even think to take my faceplace off. I never figured this would happen. I learned my lesson tho. And my dealership doesn't really care, so I'm on my own.

Either they are too cheap to buy it themselves, broke and like what you got or they have nothing else better to do.

Whether they care or not, you might want to seriously find out what they are legally responsible for.

And as mentioned, check into comprehensive coverage on your policy. It is usually *very* affordable (unlike collision insurance for young males), and will cover damage, theft, hitting a deer, storm damage, glass breakage, etc. Stuff that'* likely to happen, that is not your fault.

Also, do check the local pawn shops for your goods. Any reputable shop now has video cameras at their counters, and requires name and ID from anyone selling anything. And some crooks are dumb enough to give their real names!

Good luck, and sorry for the troubles, dude.

Sorry to hear about the loss. It could have been worse. I got really lucky a couple years ago when I was living in St. Cloud, MN. I had a 1987 Lancer Turbo with a beginner system (Pioneer front door and rear speakers, and a dual bandpass with 2 10" Jensens -nothing special -but better than stock). Anyhow, about two months after I moved out of the apartment I was in St. Cloud showing my new purchase (my first Bonneville) to a guy I had talked to every so often. He asked if I had gotten my Lancer broken into at all because he had heard someone was spotting it for a boost. He said he had talked to the guy in detail in hopes of seeing me and letting me know. He even got the date -12 hours after I moved out. Talk about lucky. Then the the informant went back to the guy I had been talking to and asked if he had ratted. He said he told them he only knew me from cruising around down town in the evenings and hadn't talked to me for a long time, nor had he known where I lived.
Couldn't believe my car had been on a 'list', and the odds of something like that messing it up. I bet the guy was pissed when he came for the goods -probably sat there all night, kept checking back for a couple nights.
