I'm probably just thinking too deep into it, anyone who would refer to a car as a whip probably wouldnt be smart enough to think up such a complex reasoning for the term

Not to get off topic, but the Bonneville wasn't exactly cheap. Mines a 93 w/almost no options and it was almost $24,000.
um yeah it was cheap considering other cars in the same class at the time. My parents paid like 38,000 for their suburban in 95. Lexus ES300 (competition to bonneville) were over 35k I believe.

How much was an SSEi in 93? Like I said, the only option mine had was the SLE package.
