when did you move out

I was going to move out when I was 20 but my parents were going through a divorce and I moved with my mom to help her out. After a year or so, I moved out and got my own apartment when I was 21. I'm now 22. I lived with a roomate for about six months, but after that got an apartment on my own.

I had just turned 18 and was a senior in high school.. Had some problems with my stepfather so my brothers and I moved out. I moved again when I went to college and thats where I'm at now, but I'm wanting to move again to get closer to school (nd maybe a garage).

I encourage all of you still living at home to move out as soon as feasible. Living at home is great from a monetary aspect, but don't discount the intangible benefits of living on your home. You won't realize this until after you've moved out and people view you in a new light. An immense amount of maturity happens when you start living on your own.

While you might mature more moving out, I advocate staying home as long as you can without overstaying your welcome. Being able to save as much money as you can when you are young will have HUGE benefits later in life. Especially if you have things like school loans that you can pay off quicker because you don't have to pay rent. You just get start off on such a better footing. I couldn't imagine the headache of trying to pay for living on my own with the job I had after school.
I moved out at 22 about 11 months after graduating from college, and a month before getting married. Seven months later I had a better paying job so life was much better.
