What I hate about VISTA
I downgraded my wifes compaq laptop to xp because I hated vista so much. I use macs (have a macbook and an imac) and have leopard on my macbook and it has no problems as of yet.
You have to remember that windows has to deal with multiple companies producing computers, as well as multiple companies producing individual parts. Apple fan boys will say all day long that "it just works" but when you only have to test against one brand of part compared to hundreds then yes it does just work. I use both computers, and can say that I enjoy things about macs and I enjoy things about a pc with XP. Now when it comes to vista I do not like the new design of it.

Vista is diffrent, People are having problems with it even with new hardware.
95se see you wont find many people that says I want to throw my computer out the window from apple guys, there is alot of people that used vista and cant stand it. Although I do know people that wont install leopard on a Work video machine but they do install it on there personal computers.
I like Macs all in all. PC'* more than have their place... (like business)
My typical rant about Mac is they tend to screw their users through their hardware. Case in point.... A buddy of mine bought an IPod Nano when they first came out with the last form. Just before the current form was released he bought a new Mac and got a free Nano that he wanted to give his wife. From one generation to the next they moved the bottom connector over a few millimeters so the accessories that use said connector did work with the new IPod.
Another example, My sister bought an IBook when wireless really started taking off. She didn't get a wireless card when it was new. After time wireless equipment got more affordable and she wanted to add a wireless card. Ok, it'* a PCMCIA connector under the keyboard.... but you can't just buy a wireless card because it has an external connector to hook up the antenna. So, you need an actual card from Apple. Yeah, Apple stopped making that card and you can buy them anymore. She lucked out and bought one from a dead IBook that came into the local shop.
Everybody bitches about Microsoft'* monopoly with their software. Mac is supposed to be the "good guy" but their doing the same thing Microsoft is doing, just with "their" hardware.
Ok, I'm done now.....

yeah, don't get me wrong about the macs, i'm not saying that they are any less of a computer. in fact, like you said, offten times they are worked harder becasue they are so huge in the graphics industry. but just any time you throw something at the public in such large numbers you're bound to end up with a lot of issues. i'd even bet that a lot of them are just plain User error because there are so many inexpirenced users out there trying to work with operating systems and hardware. thats just a bad mix there...
i know pretty much all of us here are great computer users but we all have to admit we know someone who thinks they can do it but just ALWAYS F'it up. anyhow, thats my take... i'm always wanting to be on the front of the tech wave, so VISTA HO!!!!
