Yes Shawn these are good engines....

I have seen the 3.1( 120 Hp I think... TBI ) in a Transport that has to be near 300,000 miles... The tranny took a crap at 269,000 if memory serves.... Altho the 3.1 does have a slight rod tap when you change the oil, only lasts a couple of seconds tho and oil pressure is still good.... LOL...

All of the Chevy 60* and Buick 90* engines are great in my opinion... And the 3100, 3400 and now 3500, along with the 1990 and later L,K,1 engines all have the lower gasket trouble sooner or later... Yes they all do have their issues...

I almost LMAO when I saw the bottom end of 2 ford 4.0 Pushrod engines, I couldn't believe the rods in a 3800 were so much larger.... And I believe even the 3.1 had rods that looked hell bent compared to the 4.0... Its no wonder the 4.0'* died the way they did... Saw several and they all had bottom end issues, 2 of them tossed the rods all around, one took out another...lol
