The house will be cleared by Sat afternoon and thats plenty of time to clean house as if nothing happened

For once, can't you men not think about ****?? Goodness, there is a lot that could get done around the house and you would score A LOT of brownie points for doing them. Clean the house, clean the gutters, rent a carpet cleaner, clean out YOUR drawers and closet (just of your stuff).

Do some jobs that you have been putting off for a while, that would really shock her!

Do something unexpected, have some roses waiting for her when she gets home......The little things is what matters to us!!!!

i emphasize that this is the first time shes been away from home for more than 12 hours or so in almost 3 years.

When The Missus ain't home, I generally use it as a good time to go into slug mode. Spend the whole time glued to the couch. Well, until the last minute. Then I go intop a panic cleaning up and trying to make it look like I actually accomplished something.

okay, jwakamud- I think its awesome that you want to do something nice for her. What does she like? You said she'* practical. Is there something she has wanted to buy for herself but won't? Is there something around the house she'* been wanting to get done like painting the bedroom a different color??
