Default What to do about birds

Our new apartment comes with a carport. I can't find any nests, but after a couple days, my windshield is a mess with poo. Is there a good way to deter birds from coming into a shelter? I don't think there is an electrical outlet, so those high pitched whistler things are out.

That'* the only thing I can think of at the moment. Probably just a tarp, I don't think the renter would like me doing construction to their building.
