While I am on the subject of the Somerset, here are a few things that irk
me about the car, but really don't affect operation. Well, a few may affect
operation.

The small thirteen inch wheels are tall and skinny.
The radio setup makes it impossible to upgrade.
I can't seem to stop the rust.
Both the door windows leak large amounts of water when in the car wash.
The engine is weak, and always has been weak.
The third brake light would flash with the left turn signal, but not come on
with the brake lights.
The fuel gauge is vastly incorrect (going 250 miles before half, and then
plummeting).
The tape deck doesn't work.
The driver'* seat belt sometimes won't retract.
The buttons for the windshield washer and rear defrost have broken, and
now consist of tape.
The cruise control sometimes surges.
I don't have a clue where all the coolant disappeares to.
The driver side key hole came out with the door key once.
I can't seem to keep the rear view mirror glued to the windshield.
At low speeds in top gear, the car makes an awful rumble.
The bottom rear defrost strand does not work.
The heater occasionally makes a horrible squealing noise (very
embarrassing on dates).
The heater takes on average 25 minutes to put out air that can be
considered warm.
The air conditioner compressor seized up in the middle of the summer,
making hot air, which would have been an improvment, had it been
winter.
The head liner has basically become unattached from the ceiling, now
being held up by twist pins.
The light in the glove compartment doesn't always work.
The brakes used to surge (had them fixed last week, but now the car is
dead).
The power antenna has never worked for me.
The casing to the front part of the console does not stay on by itself.
The car would not reliably start until I replaced the started and
distributor.
The fuel tank is really small.
One odd feature, the spare has a bigger wheel (14 inch) than the normal
wheel (13 inch).
The coolant thermostat broke.
I found an engine mount bolt lying on the frame in a pool of oil and
coolant (I fixed that coolant leak, but still lose coolant).
The power steering does not work for about two minutes on cold days.
There are no map or reading lights.
The front speakers were very cracked, so I replaced them and eventually
all of the speakers. I would have done the head unit and tape deck, but I
couldn't find those kind of items anywhere because of the peculiar setup.
Second gear was nowhere to be found (three speed auto in case you
were wondering).
The front left wheel lost a stud and two nuts for no apparent reason and
about came off going down the highway.
The car was basically given to me, so i shoudn't complain to my parents,
but I would get another car if I could afford one, most likely a Bonneville,
or if I had my choice of Buicks, I would get a Regal. My roomate has one
and I like it.

Otherwise, the car runs good, the exhaust sounds good, the power door
locks work as well as the digital dash. The driver seat is comfortable, the
radio controls work, the wheels rotate, the doors open when needed, the
trunk lid does also, as well as the fuel door. It is cheap to fill with gas
while getting good milage.
