Sadly, I ended up going out and buying a new belt sander. It wasn't even on sale.

Last night, my old belt sander was shooting sparks and the motor seized up.

I'm going from a 3"x21" to a 3"x18". I use to use a Craftsman 3"x18" (lasted 6 years) up until just over a year ago. Rubber belt inside of it went bad and bushings were bad. Still ran fine. Then bought a Harbor Freight (get what you paid for) 3"x21". I'm betting a lot of body filler dust probably got into the motor. I ended up spending a little bit more for a newer version of the Craftsman belt sander. With a 3 year warranty, it was $60.99 @ Sears.

Also took a breaker bar back to Harbor Freight because it broke.
