Worked on a GP today, changing the pressure control solenoid. Would have finished it if I hadn't been pulled over. What a waste of my time.

Pulled over.. tell us more....lol
Drove the car again. Each day is a risk at 179,000 miles with a bad trans. Think it'* the input piston...they do wear and it'll do it on acceleration or hills. Not always though. I'm kinda thinkin.... one day I'll actually take the time and rebuild the one sitting in the basement.

Finished that GP right away. Only took about a half hour. Turns out I had very little to do, put tires back on, reconnect both dog bones, hook up throttle body air inlet, plug in IAT sensor, and add trans fluid. Took it for a drive. Lot of vibration, but didn't seem to be coming from the front. Rolled down window, could hear noise from left rear wheel. Sounds like a bad bearing. So he gets here to pick it up. I tell him about the bearing and that I can fix it if he wants. Sure, no problem. Then he wants the struts replaced as well. I asked what'* wrong with them? They felt fine when I test drove it. He said the back end was all over the place this winter. I explained that'* tires more then struts. So I run my hand around the rear tire. That'* odd. It'* bald here, but not there. I look closer. Ohh, you have cords showing, and I run my hand over them to show him. Ouch, not cords, steel belts. Wish I had taken a picture, but I've never seen a tire look that bad. Looks like it blew a belt. Ya, I would not trust that tire, replace it now.

Today was a busy day for Bonnie! First I went to the parts store and bought new brake pads cause mine were making so much noise. I got the car jacked all the way up, took the tire off and the pads on the car were brand new!! Well I took them back and exchanged them for new spark plug wires. I can't believe how much better the car runs and how much more power it has! Then on top of that I also found a gas leak on the fuel line that goes across the top of the supercharger. I always smelt a light gas smell every time I started the car and could never find out where it was coming from. I don't know where to get the little "Gator" clip that goes into the coupler and locks it to the fuel rail, and Auto zone doesn't sell it, so I may be stuck going to the stealer-ship. Oh well, at least I know how to get it up and running now!

I took off the 1 year warranty outer tie rod off and it was already popping after 5 days of use. I put new lifetime outer tie rods on both sides. Drove the Caddy to see how it drives. It was fine until I was backing out of Autozone and sounded like the outer tie rod popped. Then my steering was messed up again.
Now, I'm going to go do some body work on my truck.

Finally may have figured out why the SLE has been starting strange. It'* got brand new iridium plugs already so I knew that wasn't it. Went and changed the wires last night and cleaned off the terminals on the distributors. Some of the connections on the plugs and some on the distributors had some plastic melted gunk in them. Not sure what that was but it couldn't be helping conductivity. I'm thinking that will make a difference and only cost $31.99 for the wires. I got the Bosch from Autozone with the life time warranty. Same thing I put on the SSEi to replace the junk $150 or whatever they were ZZFail wires. Never have to buy wires for this car again.
and for your enjoyment, my helper got bored.

I've heard so many bad things about the ZZfail wires. I wouldn't put them on my car if you gave me them for free.
I snapped a cable on my parking brake for the truck yesterday. Going to fix that today. The end popped off. So I'm just going to clamp it in place at the bracket, no big deal. Even if it fails again, it'* only one side.

Trent and I both had ZZFail wires that lived up to their name. I believe he went after a refund and they never got back to him. Go figure. $31.99 for a set with a lifetime warranty, they may not look as good, but sometimes functionality has to take precedence.
