thats charter 5 meg, not 3 meg. The 3 meg is 3000/256 and the 5 meg is 5000/512. Sure its 3 meg?

I called my cable company and found out what I am paying for ....

I have 6M service and he said I should be getting around 6-7K download and 256-300 Upload speeds....

What could be holding up my downloads?

the upload won't budge, but now the download is in the 20s!

Anything already using the network would slow you down. File sharing, spyware, adware, IM'*, gateway type software. The list goes on...

Make sure you're using at least 100mb/* nics & cat5 cable. Routers/hubs too if you have them. 10Megabit/* nic will top out just over 1MegaByte per sec. Processor & bus type & speed ( that the nic uses) also play a factor.

Your not connected via USB are you? I've seen TW do that to a few people too, not good when theyre usb1.
