That looks to me to be a cummin's engine, GM's are V blocks.
The piece you're talking about looks like HUGE air swirler.... Like the "Tornado" or whatever it is that you wanna call it. |

That looks to me to be propane injection, which he mentioned and said to ignore....Idk
