i saw a 20/20 report on this a few years back (circa 1995) and it still gives me the chills to this day.....

This is why new pools do not have floor drains anymore. That was the explanation given to me by our local municipality and pool supplier/contractor when we had an inground pool installed.

New filters have a backwash/flush cycle, thereby eliminating the need for drains.

Sad story though.

here in quebec there a kid that got both legs cut off after being suck in a 6 inches pipe that pipie had no grill on . these places need to be check on more often
