WANTED: VACUUM MOTORS
Got an old vacuum in your closet that hasn't seen the light of day since 1985? Have that old pull along vacuum in the basement that needed a new power cord and never got one? Want to get rid of it? Let me know what it'll take to get it off your hands! I'm looking for dirt cheap vacuums/vacuum motors! I don't care what brand, make, model, year, color, gender, or any of that. I simply want vacuum motors. Preferably working ones, but I won't be picky. I'm working on putting a flow bench together and need to pull 24" of vacuum at 300 CFM. I don't think that'* too greedy. So let me know what ya got!

Just so we're clear, I don't need the whole vacuum, just the motors.

I have a vacuum pump that needs rebuilt. It came out of a dentist'* office. I believe you would need a separate motor to drive this thing. I don't know much about it, I can get the specs off the plate on the side if you are interested. It is heavier than a Pontiac V8 starter, shipping won't be cheap.

I just called my local vacuum shop.
I told them what "I" was making and they said to move about 300 cfm'* I would need about 4 motors. They have them, for a price, the guy I talked to said they should be cheap, but the owner was out, so I will call tomorrow.
what is the most you would pay Doug?

holy carp.... I have completely forgotten about this thread.
I actually found a couple brand spankin' new 3 stage motors that are about $100 a piece. The 300 CFM limit is in place because I will probably never port big block heads, or any other heads that flow that much. My engine and the 3800 should be hard pressed to run up to 300 CFM. I was also analyzing my plan a bit and now I'm in a debate with myself. It'* a build your own, or a SF-600.... I am starting to consider the superflow because it'* one of those "tried and true" things. Also, it'* all set up and I won't have to worry about botching to build and having vac leaks all over the place giving me false readings. I don't know.... buy a SF-600 or build it myself? What say you?
