i think it is a little of everything. the car produces so much blowby that the pcv system cant handle it all, and the wet compression tests, while they do yield higher numbers, dont put the compression where it should be.

Don't bother with the police Vic, it'll be beat-up, it'* a guzzler, and anybody with a boosted 3.8 can still blow it to hell!

rjolly87, it'* time for either:
1)new engine
2)new(er) car

Your motor is dying. It'* lived a good life. Been places, made friends.
Sometimes we have to rember the good times. It'll live on in our thoughts.

(If you would like to donate to the rjolly87'* engine funeral fund,
please send donations to pearl jam@Bonnevilleclubdotcom)

Together we can all get through this.

If you got rid of the tempo...how much fun would that be?

If you got a bonne...newbies wouldn't understand why we call you Fordboy...cause as the originator or that particular term...I'm stickin with it.

Rolly, then you could put a big fin and a body kit on it too!

I don't know why I said that, but I imagined that and it made me laugh.

BTW, I redid your math for you and you would still save about $1250 a year getting around 18-19 mpg (10 over what you get now). And that'* only figuring on approx. 5,000 miles per year or 100/week for 50 weeks, which, IIRC was what you said you drive.

That would surely help pay for a good used Bonneville...

it'* a 1989 crown Vic with the police package and about 87k on the clock.
I had one of those. The have the 5.8L vs. the 5.0L. Only 185hp vs. 150hp. With a curb weight of 4100lbs they turned a 18 second quarter at 77-79mph. I say forget it, not worth the gas.
