Hey, what on Earth happened here? Popatim... Damn!

Let me shift this over a bit. Putertopia, if you want to run XP on your laptop, try European servers to get XP drivers. I couldn't find drivers locally for my Acer Aspire 5100 ($300!!!) locally, but support.acer-euro.com/ had them. I don't know what brand your PC is, but see what you can find.

Hmm never thought of that. Tis a Compaq v6310. Maybe some time I'll turn that into my project. It'd be neat if I could dual boot... but I don't think you can without vista ultimate, atleast that'* what the clueless Microsoft rep told me.

As far as I'm concerned... it'* over. I just didn't appreciate the random attack on the complete stranger thing.

He meant it with the kindest regards in mind. That, and you work at Staples and thus face discrimination from people who are very well versed. It happened to me when I worked at Fry'* Electronics, but I just happened to rationalize every situation with the pompous IT guys and let them know they're relatively uninformed. Just one guy who was involved in the Alpha processor build outdid me. It happens. I'm glad to see it'* over.

I agree that I don't think Vista alone was the cause. I installed a fresh copy of Vista on my gaming PC followed by CSS and it worked fine.

Weird quirk. As with any new OS it takes awhile to iron out the bugs (always a lot with MS, rofflecopters).

Don't know your 'stuff' and not willing to learn will gauranty that you don't move up the ladder. I gather this might be true of most other fields as well thou.

Good luck

Default Vista

Thats really strange, I work as tech support for an ISP, and All I hear all day is complaining about how bad Vista is, but I run Vista Ultimate at home and have NO problems, nor have I ever, save some bad ram I bought caused a bsod, not Vista'* fault tho. Do you think the issues are caused by compatibility/driver problems for the people that have issues? Or is it that OEM'* aren't putting enough "Horse Power" into their POS machines to run it properly.(YAY! for building your own machine) I will admit Vista is a resource pig, and the more resources you feed it, the more it will occupy. For example, when I had 2 gigs of ram, it would Idle at a comfy 700MB, as soon as I bumped it up to 4gigs, it idles at almost 1gig, Due to only having 32bit installed, it only sees 3.325 of my 4 gigs, but still. Its not Microsoft'* fault people are too stupid to run Vista (NOT aimed @ you putertopia) I'm talking the "general" user that destroys out of ignorance... "oh whats this, I don't need this... I'll delete it!" *crash... BSOD*
