Default Video editing software

I'm looking to pickup some video editing software, above what Movie Maker can do, and need some recommendations.
I've been looking online tonight and have looked at:

Roxio Easy Media Creator - looks like alot of features for a good price. I think I'll like the sound editing capabilities. Hows the backup software?

Adobe Premeire Elements - Their site doesn't break down all the features for comparison, anyone here use this?

Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 11

and Ulead Video Studio 11 Plus.

Does anyone have good or bad experiences with these products you'd like to share or perhaps another recommendation?

Thanks!!!

I am a video editor mostly edit on Macs, if you really want something that will get you in the creativity iMac or Mac book is the the way to go. Has everything for you iphoto, iMovie, iDVD, iWeb all that (I dont use that stuff besides iDVD because I use Final Cut Studio 2) But Adobe products such as premier are pretty good. I use photoshop and aftereffects all the time on my apple.

At work we work with Premier Pro 2.0 on PC and its pretty good just doesn't compare to Final Cut IMO.

Anyways I would stay with Premeire elements if I was you.
