Very good read, great information.
If Dexcool was such a bad coolant, as some people have said it is, it would start to attack the intake gaskets as soon as it was poured into the cooling system. That’* not the case, nor does that occur with any other brand of long life coolant. The problem is not the brand or type of coolant in the cooling system. The problem is any type of corrosion inhibitor will eventually wear out. Once this happens, the coolant becomes acidic and allows corrosion to attack the metal surfaces around the coolant ports as well as the intake manifold gaskets.

So many variables yet some want to stomp Dex and walk away. I flushed mine right before 5 years and 50K miles. It just worked out that way. What went back? New Dex. I know a certain person who has totally ignored common sense and even made a Dex conspiracy over Dex. Funny how the gaskets failures for similar engines in Fords and Mopar fare the same without Dex.... The single most important thing to know and be aware of is your coolant'* (whatever it may be) recommended life and change as needed.
