i used to work for mediacom, installing digi cable and high speed internet. id run speed checks on bandwidthplace.com i think it was, for the customers. when i was there, it was locked at a 1.5m supposadly, id run tests and it was always at like 2.1, but for 3 weeks everyone was at like 3.5-4.2 is the highest i saw. then it went back to the norm 2.0

im supposed to be on charters 384k connection, just did a test, 2.6, then 3.4, then 3.3!!!! i tried DSLREPORTS.com, 2.2, then 2.2 why would i pay for the "faster" connection???? 3megs for $20!! i tested it like 9 months ago, and it was ALWAYS 250-400k ( i was paying for a 256k connection, they recently dropped the 256k for 384k)

You guys are lucky.

I have Charter for a cable company and they *finally* upgraded us to 2MBit. We are still behind ComCast in terms of speed, but at least we get 512 for upload which is cool.

Do you guys in Canada still have Rogers trying to 'meter' your bandwidth usage every month?
