Default Trying to save a friend...

a friend of mine is looking at a 95 eagle talon, running 20 psi of boost, with rims, exaust, bodykit, stereo, and all of the other ricer works for $5500. normally i would be happy for him, but he knows very little about cars <doesnt even know what injectors are , and can barely change his own oil and check his own fluids>. i say if he puts $5500 into his van that he has <93 grand caravan LE with the 3.3 v6> he would make one heck of a sleeper <assuming he can take the 2.5liter turbo out of an 89-90 caravan and bolt it up. is that possible?>. what do you guys think? is there any clubs for caravans? i couldnt find anything :?

He'* running 20 PSI? What has he done to the engine to handle that kind of boost?

Since it'* a DSM, I'm suprised that thing hasn't broke down yet.

A 4G63 running 20psi is nothing to scoff or "ricer" at. Just a matter of knowing what prep work went into getting said 20psi.

Get him to buy a stock car. Doesn't matter if he builds up a DSM or a K-Van, if it'* modded, he'll need to look after it.

its awd right(was pretty sure all the talons and eclipse gsx'* were awd and the gs-t was the one that got fwd)? tell him to ask if there was a 1st gen head swap. the 2nd gen dsm'* commonly take the crank for a walk. stock boost is 12psi. i would take a shot at the car (provided it runs ok). id rip the kit and stereo out and try to get as much $$ as possible for that crap. he'll learn fast if he buys a dsm, they're fun cars to learn on. heck the way the car probably sits right now it could probably pull low 13'*... bet its an auto though

The talon TSi'* were nothing to sneeze at. The TSi'* were all wheel drive turbos. Stock they could probably take all of our cars (except the select few highly moded ones.
