I've been reading Tom Clancy since I was a kid, recently found another author named Vince Flynn, some seriously good books.

Read some stuff by Richard Marcinko, the real Rainbow 6 creater (or Seal Team 6) ;D

Tom Clancy has had some real good stuff, and some droll books as well. Red Storm Rising would be my favorite.

Rainbow was a team made up of military members from various NATO nations, not just U.*. military personel. Seal Team 6 is an actual entity whereas Rainbow is completely fictional.

Rainbow 6 is probably my favorite book of all time.

I'm saying, according to my knowledge and what my friend told me, that Marcinko came up with the idea of writing stories with Seal Team 6 before Clancy wrote about Rainbow 6. It'* kind of a rip off, although Clancy has some good writing. Really good plots, imo.

Yeah, Flynn talks about Seal Team 6, while Clancy is about Rainbow 6. I wonder if real life is anything like those books, CIA and covert ops and all that....
