I just recently read that dogs love to have a task to do. It gives them "purpose", especially if they are home most of the day and have extra energy to burn.

Hmmmm...I may have to build a small cart for ours...

My folks have pictures somewhere, from when my dad was stationed in MD, of our dog pulling me and my brother around in a wagon and on a sled.
