But i'll tell you something, you'll believe me in couple of weeks
ony WOT in the GTO is gonna make you forget the Bonne, specially it being a 6 speed & RWD

Trust me the 6 spd combo and the LSx motor will put a smile on your face...
as for the motors the 04 came with the LS1s and the 05-06 came with the LS2 The LS3 never came in these however the LS7 is a common swap.
IDK if you have a tuner but the computers are night and day diff then the sc motors and will take longer to learn and dial in.

now for me to hijack the thread I personally love the color but I may be biased because there is 2 06 IBM GTOs in my family...
My dad has an auto 06 that is completely stock minus some rims that were on it when he got it

then as mentioned elsewhere my graduation gift to myself ... 06 M6 with light mods and in the process of a tune.

as I have mentioned I am biased but IMHO IBM and SRM are the 2 best colors on the GTO body style and once you mash that pedal and it just goes and goes the smile will get wider as the miles go, BUT be warned the car is deceptive it feels slow even at speeds in excess of the legal limit.

Nice looking Goat GOJO!

Ya I definitely agree that the LSx and 6 speed are a great combo.

I loved both my LS1 Trans Am and my 96 LT1 Z28 both with 6 speeds..they were a blast to drive, but not even in the same ballpark as the GTO when it comes to comfort and everyday driver friendliness thats for sure.

This car is going to be a whole new experience for me though, as this will be the first car I have owned with more than just intake and exhaust and more power..as my past LS1 car was only an intake/exhaust car with maybe 350hp at flywheel.. With this car having that stock..then adding ported/polished heads, cam, intake, headers, exhaust, and a tune...I'm thinking it'* going to be FUN!
