Default think about it

I am kinda using this as a piggy back to the VT thread. I just want to that I don't want this to be poolitically charged. All I am going to say is that when things like this shooting and the whole dateline to catch a predator thing comes out people always rush to say all this stuff should be banned because of a few rotten apples. Honestly I think it goes back to the old addage of there is always a rotten apple that spoils the bunch.
I will say that what happened is horrendous and a shame to see. You got to ask yourselves is it really the tools fault for what is it doing? Or is it the person behind the tool. people have been killed with baseball bats yet they are not outlawed and I could go on but I won't. No matter when or where you live there will be bad people.
As for the dateline thing this may have not been talked about much here but what will jail time serve? I say you can try to rehab people but some people are just too far gone. Anyone elses thoughts?

My opinion is no matter your thoughts on gun control, they're already out there. No way you're going to get them out of the wrong hands at this point.

I'm not saying ban guns. I'm saying regulate gun ownership.

And last I checked, bats were made for hitting baseballs. Guns were made to kill. Your analogy is false.

all i was saying is that a tool is a tool. so by your analogy it is only the tools fault not the persons fault. I am sorry but I will have to dissagree with you there a tool is only as good as the person using it. To me a Gun is a tool nothing more. I will say you are entitled to your opinion and I to mine which is what makes this country great

I must dissagree on with you there. Guns can kill, and they are made for war and hunting. but there are plenty of guns and gun owners that use they for hobby shooting or "plinking" if you will. I am one of them. I shoot several guns with my family just for target shooting and entertainment. They could kill, just as a bat could, but thats not there purpose to us just as a bats purpose isn't to kill to you....

ok, i'v said my peace... Carry on...
That'* a way to use a gun, but most people that shoot targets are practicing for shooting something else. Last I checked, someone didn't see a metal target and go "I should invent something to hit that at a high velocity with." Guns were created to give an advantage on the battlefield. A gun'* purpose is to kill. It has other alternative uses when it'* not needed for defense or offense or hunting, like a car is made to take someone from point A to point B, but you can also race it to have fun as a hobby.

I do enjoy hobby shooting, I've even considered buying my own gun. I just don't live under the delusion that a gun is a toy or a right, it'* a weapon.

Guns do not, again, do not kill people. Its people that kill other people with the guns. Guns were made to kill...in times of war to have peace. But now we used them to disturb the peace, and we use them to keep it as well. I am a gun owner and I only use it for target practice. I admit, i practice just in case i might need it in the future, if somone breaks into my or my families home, i will be have the ability to protect them from a gun-totin thug. Some of us have the privledge to own the gun, not the right because not all of us have the mental stability to own one and NOT be stupid.

Lets admit it...Some people are just too weak minded...TOO STUPID!!!!

We have guns in our house. We use our guns for target practice and for hunting in the winter. And to be honest with you, if we didn't have our guns for hunting, we'd come across some pretty hard times during the winter. Not everyone with a gun is going to kill somebody, it'* a few crazy people. These people could just as easily beat somebody to death or stab them with a fork. Let'* ban all sharp or blunt objects. OK, what'* left... teddy bears.

Regardless of which side of the argument you fall on, this is probably going to be the incident that pushes gun control (removal) over the top. Get ready for a plethora of senators running for the spotlight advocating gun bans.
