Sem-EE is the pronunciation used when referring to a bisection of a diameter, ex. semicircle.

Sem-EYE is the pronunciation used when referring to the big truck that hauls things, ex. semitruck, semitrailer.

This is according to Mirriam-Webster'* dictionary.

Lets go down to the Crick near Philomath shoot us some critters and drink some Sodi Pop
If you're pickin on the southerners again, we don't say chillens, they're young-uns. And we actually pronounce the "a" in soda, and don't put the pop on it, that'* for up north. Therefore:

Y'all gonna wander down for a beer after you put the youngun'* to bed? We're gonna go down to the crick and shoot some critters (critters is totally optional down here) and drink some sodas (or coke-colas, but both are universal for any soda ever made).
