I got a 99 Bonny, its seems that all the mid to late 90'* Bonneville'* had drums in the rear. This is annoying to me since I would much rather have discs than drums since I have Enkei'* which lovingly show those large drums in the back. So just asking if people with Bonny'* within approx 95-99 say if they got drums or discs. I think it might have been an option but almost noone it seems has discs. My plan is to see if a Grand Prix rear discs or a newer 2000 Bonneville rear discs will work, but unfortuanetly I live in California and we have no decent junkyards here. But anyways, just say drums or discs in the rear so I can kinda get a tally of what Pontiac put on it'* "top of the line".

My '95 is completely loaded and there is no option for disc brakes. I also want to convert to disc since my next brake job will require replacing the drums anyhow.

YUP i got ugly drums too. I just put some black paint on them and they look good. My ssei rims dont show the brakes to much so its no biggie.
btw drum brakes are better in the rear because they lock better in a parking brake situtiation. and also they provide less friction when u drive thus letting u go faster.

but when ur stoping @ 105 its kinda sucks.

Having rebuilt the drum brake system on my 92 SE I can definitely say that DRUMS SUCK! Disks are so much easier to do.

Only the 2000+ Bonnevilles have the disks, I dunno if you can convert or not.

It seems the 2000+ use a little bit different chassis, so the suspension and other things are different. We might be out of luck, but I have enkei'*, so my drums will stick out no matter what, even if I paint them pure black. Oh well, I guess I will live with it and just upgrade the fronts.

I remember I had asked a car geek this question once and he said you can get aftermarket disc conversion kits. However, they are expensive and you have to change out your pump also since disc brakes uses a much higher pressure than drums do.

Dunno if its worth it.

You would think you could just swap out some 2k+ discs to the rear of ours...
