Just do it and dont look back I have only attended a couple of course, we had 40-60 year olds in there and everyone was equally respected and friendly. Much different world than high school

I've been to classes with people 10 to 20 years older than me.

Steve, if you went to the college (Tech College) that I went to (Alexandria Technical College) you would find yourself one of the younger people there. I was a wee bit young when I started at 17 (was actually the 2nd youngest out of 1500 students). The majority of the students that were there were 23-25+. A few in the 17-23 age bracket, but there were alot of poeple in their 50'* and 60'* there.
I too and looking at going back to college, but this time I am looking at a UMD (University of Minnesota-Duluth) for their Mechanical Engineering course. I would be looking at a Bachelors Degree in Science and for right now and hoping to get back in by fall of '05. I know that'* a ways off, but I really don't have alot of money and I have to look into see what kind of financial aid I would be eligable for, plus their are a lot of other things that I want to get straightened out before then (Bills, bills, bills).

I say go for it. If you are really sincere and put forth your best effort you can and will go a long way. Good luck

I started my higher education at age 23. (long and boring story) Even at that time, about a third of the 'real' classes were composed of students that were 20 or older.

Don't let your age slow you down, its actually an asset. I found that the teachers were happy to work with me, as they know I really wanted to be there. Unlike sone of the younger students, who were just taking classes because Mom and Dad were paying for them. (You'll find *those* students will irratate you as well.

Good Luck, Whoop it up, do your best, and most of all....Have FUN!
