Put a CAI on and drop a pulley size and you will hear the whine.

The Gearheads on the forum recommend you not go lower than 3.5" without improving intake and exhaust efficiency. Here is a thread Danthurs posted on how to change the pully:
https://www.gmforum.com/t278960/

There are lots of writes up on how to mod your car for increased performance. Search, read and learn.

If you are going to start doing these types of mods, I highly recomment you invest in a scanner that is capable of scanning for knock retard.

He has a series 1 supercharger, that'* a different sized pulley. I don't recall the size off had, but 2.8" comes to mind.

Because members have different superchargers and "Series" engines. I'm going to give you the cold, bottom line truth here. You have a Series I engine, which is the weakest in the scheme of 3800'*. And have 170,000 miles on it. If you change to a newer supercharger or decrease the pulley size, you will destroy the engine. Either right away or shortly thereafter. Not a maybe, a sure thing. I would seriously consider accepting you have one the first */C and Series engine and it cant be reliably changed for more than what it is. I'm in the same boat, with my NorthSatr so I feel for you, but arent going to mislead you here. @ 170,000 I wouldnt be altering anything major.

Over the summer I had the time to focus on the more detailed maintenance aspects of my engine. MAF, new plugs and wires, throttle position sensor, throttle body cleaning, heavy duty transmission cooler, new supercharger coupler and LIM, Magnaflow cat, tranny flush, O2 sensor. All together they have made my bonnie more responsive, quicker, and overall just a lot more fun to drive. I even added a CAI for a couple of weeks but found myself hot rodding a lot more than what I thought was healthy for me or the car so I settled for the drop in K&N filter. (just the sound alone made my foot heavy) The point being, I may not have the fastest car on the street but it is a lot more fun to drive than the average four door sedan. It is a Luxury sports car so enjoy it for what it is. A little TLC goes a long way.

i think that when i get older maby in my late 20'* early 30'*, if i have the extra money, i am thinking about having a professional shop remove and completley break down the engine and have everything cleaned up and anything worn have replaced, anyone think that is a good idea? (o and if u question if i will keep my bonnie another 12-14 years, i have grown up with that car, my dad bought that car 10 days before my first birthday brand new right off of the line, and we still have it, its not a car anymore, its part of the family)
