Red face Startling news

After a 4 day long conversation with JONPRO03..About what motor my truck has i first discoverd it was not a 355 but possibly a 360(350 bored .60 over) well after talking to the one that had such work done (my grandpa) After about 30 mins of back and forth i determined Bubba also has a damn 383 stroker....Here i am wondering why i cant floor it without destroying tires and sliding sideways on take off and why i can break him loose while cruising....Not that i do that anymore with my new tires..BUt anyways the point of this is so everybody knows what he has....So to everybody (like me) who has gone around thinking it was a 355 sorry its not

Im interrested to confirm this but im not gonna tear it apart to find out...SO when and if catastrophic faliure occurs i will tear it down and find out to put me a peace of mind

Couldn't you set #1 to the bottom of it'* stroke and add a controlled amount of a light oil to figure out the displacement? 350 to 355 would be tough to see the difference, but 383 is going to be enough to tell.

Just altering the displacement Dakota doesn't do so much. Other than the displacement gain. It goes alot further in to what pistons were used, were the heads, intake/exhaust manifolds replaced or modified, to make use of the displacment. Lets add timing, cam, other tune items. Often when these items aren't upgraded at the same time you can potentially end up with an engine that isnt as efficient with the other things left as is.

And by using a lightweight oil, you shouldn't have to worry in case some leaks past the rings while you are filling it.

Sounds like a pretty good rework. Tuning?. That short bed should make short work of its gears.
