SO I'm staring down a $206 ticket. half for tailgating half for not maintaining my lane long enough. How easy is it to fight a interstate ticket in CT. I'd love to talk to someone on the phone I really can't afford this. Even if I can get one half dropped that would be great. Thank you guys.

In any state an attorney is going to cost more than the tickets, and results so mixed its a crap shoot. Best thing to do is go to the plea hearing and seek out or ask to talk to the City/County attorney and see what they offer. Most jurisdictions like deals.

Go to court and plead not guilty. You'll end up talking to the DA or asst. DA and it will get lowered. I got a $180 reckless driving lowered to $40 failure to signal reduced speed.
